Biogas plants are an essential compo- nent for sustainable climate protection. They are increasingly seen as the preferred technology for organic fraction municipal waste, agriculture and by-pro- ducts from the food industry, being independent of time and weather, with availability 24/7. However, with the wide diversity of the different feed material, the sophisticated process technique of the multi-stage technology is the most suited to extract the high performance required for sustainability.
With the unique ability to accept straw based animal manures, grass or silage cuttings, or other plant-based feed and foods, the BES technology also offers options for resource use. Gene- rated biogas may be used directly for heating, combustion or generation of electricity, or it may be refined to use as biomethane or natural gas. Digestate substrate may be used as organic liquid or solid fertilizer or it can also be used as an RDF material.

Many existing or new single stage plants face the challenges of sustainability due to changing conditions, in terms of flexibility and variance of feed material. The BES multi-stage high performance plant is able to accept complete change or blending of organic fraction feed material. This flexibility offers owners to upgrade existing single stage plants or select multi-stage to align with cheaper or varying feed material.
